NeoSystems Obtains FedRAMP Ready Certification

November 28, 2018 | BY: NeoSystems

TYSONS CORNER, Va. (November 28, 2018)NeoSystems LLC, a leading provider of managed services, consulting services and compliant hosting solutions, announced today that it has achieved the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (“FedRAMP”) Ready Moderate designation for the NeoSystems.Cloud. FedRAMP is a federal government program that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization and continuous monitoring for cloud-based products and services.

The NeoSystems.Cloud is an effective, affordable solution for government contractors who must meet FAR, DFARS and other security regulations with reduced staff and while avoiding a costly technology investment. Managed hosting solutions within NeoSystems.Cloud allow firms to move to the Cloud without the risks associated with traditional commercial Infrastructure-as-a-Service and Platform-as-a-Service offerings. The NeoSystems.Cloud also provides a solid compliance platform on which application providers might deploy their software to quicken their path to a FedRAMP compliant SaaS offering.

NeoSystems has created a secure community cloud, NeoSystems.Cloud, specifically to address the cloud service needs of the government contracting community. The VMware Software Defined Data Center suite of products forms the core of the NeoSystems.Cloud infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). Microsoft Windows Server, various Linux variants, Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database Server provide the base for the Platform as a Service (PaaS). NeoSystems then hosts off-the-shelf software applications, including the Deltek ERP applications, in virtual and micro segmented environments dedicated to each client organization.

FedRAMP enables Agencies to rapidly adapt from old, insecure legacy IT to mission-enabling, secure, and cost effective cloud-based IT. FedRAMP created and manages a core set of processes to ensure effective, repeatable cloud security for the government. Government contractors may be required to host their applications in a FedRAMP compliant Cloud in order to meet the increasing security requirements promulgated by the US Government. As one of a select number of vendors to receive FedRAMP Ready status, NeoSystems builds on its history of offering services tailored to the government contracting marketplace.

“Adding the FedRAMP Ready designation to our cloud offerings assures our clients that NeoSystems.Cloud meets or exceeds the Federal guidelines for cybersecurity. Beyond the cloud, as a full-service provider of managed security services, NeoSystems has developed a complete solution that addresses all of our clients’ security requirements. We include all the controls needed to securely store Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), Controlled Defense Information (CDI) and other Federal data while addressing the NIST 800-171, FAR and DFARS cybersecurity requirements,” said Ed Bassett, Chief Information Security Officer for NeoSystems.

“NeoSystems continues to invest in the GovCon community.” said Rob Wilson, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer for NeoSystems. “We started with empty racks and an aggressive plan, then we leveraged our 15 years of experience hosting for government contractors along with today’s modern software-defined data center technologies to create a FedRAMP compliant community cloud, NeoSystems.Cloud.”

EmeSec served as NeoSystems’ independent assessor during the FedRAMP certification process. Maria Horton, CEO, EmeSec, stated, “NeoSystems used EmeSec for its NeoSystems.Cloud FedRAMP Readiness Assessment Testing. We observed that the NeoSystems.Cloud solution, and its security and design, easily demonstrated the security requirements and mandates required by FedRAMP. The NeoSystems’ offering provides a “FedRAMP Ready” foundation for new applications and legacy hosting, and could facilitate FedRAMP Ready testing for those applications or others wanting to meet Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) hosting requirements.”
