NeoSystems’ sponsorship includes bringing the statistics to all those attending the tournament and the world-wide television audience.
The tournament’s owner and beneficiary, the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation (WTEF), works to improve the lives of DC-area youth, particularly those from lower-income communities, by providing tennis, academic, and life-skills activities that teach discipline, build confidence and improve academic performance. WTEF helps these children to go to college by obtaining academic and tennis scholarships.
The Citi Open, so named as Citigroup Inc. is the title sponsor, is held at the William H.G. Fitzgerald Tennis Center in Rock Creek Park. It is an Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) World Tour 500 level men’s tournament and a member of the prestigious Emirates Airline U.S. Open Series. The Citi Open also features a Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) International level tournament providing fans the opportunity to watch simultaneous competitions of both world-class men’s and women’s tennis throughout the nine-day event.
