Joanna Valencia – Chief Legal Officer
Joanna Valencia is the Chief Legal Officer at NeoSystems. Joanna leads NeoSystems’ Legal and Contracts Departments, and serves on the Executive Management Team. In her roles she provides day-to-day legal support and business-focused counseling to leadership/management, sales, contracts, and business units with respect to contractual, employment, intellectual property, litigation and dispute, risk management, regulatory, and corporate governance matters.
Joanna has 25 years of experience advising domestic and international clients on a wide variety of corporate and technology transactional matters, both in private practice at several prestigious law firms in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area including Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris Glovsky & Popeo, Greenberg Traurig, and Bracewell and Patterson, and in in key corporate counsel roles at several global companies, including SmartSea, Brenne Whiskey, and Teleglobe.
Joanna earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and holds a B.A. from the University of San Diego. She is licensed to practice law in Virginia, D.C., California and Florida. She is fluent in Spanish, and served as a law clerk for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Argentina.
