Costpoint & Cognos – New DC Users Group

Over the past few months, we’ve received many questions from Costpoint users about how their financial reporting will be impacted by the transition to Costpoint 7, changes to the Deltek Costpoint Enterprise Reporting (CER) package, and other factors in the industry. Since many Costpoint users out there utilize the IBM Cognos reporting tools – either through their own licenses or through Deltek’s CER package – we thought what better way to address these questions than to start a users group in our very own backyard.

Without further ado, I’d like to introduce our new users group – Cognos for Contractors. We’re kickstarting this quarterly set of discussions by hosting the inaugural event on January 29th at our headquarters in Tysons Corner. Any Costpoint or Cognos user is welcome to join. For our first event, we’re going to focus on the latest tool IBM has introduced – Cognos Insight. This solution empowers users to make their own “what if” scenarios, dashboards, and reports without any involvement from IT. Government contractors are already utilizing Cognos Insight to connect with a variety of data sources, including Excel and the Deltek product suite. Best of all, the solution features a free personal edition and is a no-cost add-on for existing Advanced Business Author licenses of Cognos BI, Express, and TM1.
