Navigating in Costpoint 7

One of the many upgrades Deltek made in the Costpoint 7 release was improving the end-user experience. Older versions of Costpoint had a very dull interface – screens looked archaic, applications and processes were stored in odd locations within the system, and it just took a lot more time than necessary to get used to its various nuances.

Not anymore. With Costpoint 7, Deltek has created a beautiful new display that brings Costpoint into the 21st century. There’s a lot to like – mostly because everything is sequenced in a much more logical manner. The menu is eerily similar to Windows applications and includes a global toolbar that’s incredibly intuitive.

Deltek has also made screen configuration a hot item. This allows your users to remove any unnecessary applications from their screens that they may either not have access to or not use on a frequent basis. The result is a cleaner, more organized screen that gets your end users to the information they need quicker than ever before. For icing on the cake, Deltek built in an application search bar that displays processes around a particular function.

For instance, if you type in “Accounts Payable”, you’ll see drop-down items that relate to that function, such as “Manage Accounts Payable Vouchers”.
